If Marilyn Manson can get an oxygen tank, then I should be able to get one. If any dancer or smoker can get one, how hard could it be?

Quess what oxygen is considered a drug in the United States and therefore must be prescribed as such. You must first and foremost obtain a prescription from a MD with a correlating disease requiring it administration. Then your MD has his nurse call the home cre company that your insurance allows you to use or you pay out of pocket. And it is very expensive. It is one of the most expensive home therapies that a person will ever have to pay for. Oddly enough because of the transport issues the regulations for it care come under the Dept. of Transportation, a federal agency. Violation of the Federal Regulation pertaining to the use, storage and issuance of oxygen are all punishable by time in a federal penitiary. So good luck with that.

I guess oxygen is regulated differently in various states. Where I am, oxygen must be ordered by a medical doctor. It also should not be used without advice from a Doctor. On going amounts of 100% oxygen can cause blindness.

That kind of gas mask doesn't have an oxygen tank. It filters the bad stuff out of the air with the filter in that round canister thing out in front. You can easily unscrew the filter, to give your face a sort of 'bug' like look. You will not have filtered air, but, for normal uses, this is fine. Well, not 'normal' for costume use.

If your doctor feels you need it, he/she should be able to order one for you through a home health service. If it's not medically necessary for you to have one, I'm guessing you could check with any sort of medical supply store in your area and see what they say. The worst they could say is "No, not without a doctor's order."
