I eat chicken broth to keep the chicken enzyme in me because ive read the enyzme protease helps digest meat but it might be a different enzyme to digest fish and red meat. I was thinking about adding fish to my diet and I was wondering if that would make me sick. its been about six months since I ate fish. I dont want to become sick. anyone else experiment with this?

My experience is not with fish but with chicken after not eating it for about 12 years. And yes I got sick as a dog.
My husband ate some fish the other day and hadn't eaten any meat, poultry or fish for months and I don't think it made him sick. I am sure he would have told me if it had.

I've only gone vegetarian for one month at a time and don't recall having any ill effects going back to eating meat. I'm sure if you start with small portions, especially stir fry in which it is mixed with lots of other healthy ingredients you'll be fine.

I have dealt with this situation in the form of friends' lifestyles. The trick is to slowly introduce mellow seafood (haddock, flounder, tuna) into pasta dishes or chowders. Start off with a can of pre-made Clam chowder and mix in instant mashed potato flakes to dilute the strength of flavors. When you can handle that, work your way up. Good luck.

If you are going to go back to eating meat, do so gradually and with small amounts. Your body needs to adjust to it. Small amounts of fish shouldn't bother you, but I'd stay away from the T-Bones!

ANY abrupt diet change needs to be done gradually, to let the system adjust.
