ever since i had pneumoina, i've had a cough, its landed me in the e.r 3 times plus i was just in the hospital for a week, i was negative for pertusis and tuberculosis but it kind of sounds like a whopping cough, my pulminolgist doesnt know what it is, i'm 17 and very active and its hard to do daily tasks when i'm coughing almost all the time, anybody know what it can be?

Could be almost anything from bronchitis on.
You could have some lung scarring from the pneumonia or have irritated the chest wall from coughing during that time. You could also have problems with your heart or heart lining. And you could have developed asthma.
Best thing is to see an internist and a full work up to zero in on cause.

Do you live in the Missisippi/Missouri river valley? It could be histoplasmosis, a fungal infection that is endemic to those regions. There is also another called coccidiomycosis common to the southwest.
Otherwise, sometimes the inflammation from the infection just takes it's time clearing up. Taking it a little easier for a while might help. Don't hesitate to seek a second opinion.

Don't know...but I would go in for a second and even third opinion. Work hard at being your own best advocate. Don't settle for the " I don't know what it is" answer.

cystic fibrosis... nah thats genetic could be bronchitis
