Greens will do it to you..also it depends on how long you have been doing it..If only a few weeks you will still be cleaning out your intestines and your colon.

HUMANS are an adaptable infestation. However your digestive system needs time to acclimate. Er adapt. Those digestive juices actually change to accomodate the fuel- er- food coming in...
Beans have a rep for gas as most people do not eat enough regularly to develope the specific digestive juices. Like other 'undigestable' food types. So patience patience...
And if you ate only roses they would come out feeling as if the stickers were still there and would not look or smell as nice as when they went in!
Generally speaking a properly adhered diet would result in one or two bowel movements a day without any obnoxious odors. But who can afford the time/cost/effort to eat right ?

Likely this is due to your change in diet. If you are like me and grew up eating the typical N. American diet of just about anything other than real food, and any real food is topped with all sorts of sauces etc., then it takes time for the body to adjust. It literally took me years to adjust fully to the point where I could actually eat some rice and vegetables and actually digest it fully and get enough energy out of it [this is why so many people are "starving" half an hour after eating Chinese food; they can't digest it] I tried switching to rice and veggies right away, but found that I was eating and eating and eating and eating and was never getting that satisfied "full" feeling. It just wasn't digesting properly. I found that pasta was really the only food that could give me the energy I needed (bicycle racing), but slowly over time with the inclusion of more real foods, things got better and better. Especially when I was finally eating fresh food straight from my own garden. You may also be combining foods improperly, right? Such as mixing... fruits and vegetables, or beans and fruit, or ... you know, people have some crazy ideas such as making a banana smoothie with frozen bananas, soy milk, blueberries, .... these sorts of things are basically taboo mixtures in most other places in the world. But, even consuming such things as white vinegar will kill off the flora in your digestive system. You'll find that the healthier you eat, the more your digestive system awakens and starts to 'talk' saying, hey, don't eat that, or don't mix those together, etc. Pay attention to what you guts say and pay attention to what goes into the toilet... if it's too hard or too soft, not good. Sounds gross, but that's a really easy way to tell if digestion is good. If it's liquid, you are in sick mode. We are trying to raise our kids telling them what are 'bad mixes' and are 'good mixes', and the eventually get the idea by looking at the results in the toilet. So, build up your flora, try not to kill it off (antibiotics will kill them all off too... very bad for ya... I avoid such drugs, they do more harm than good). Just remember, in Chinese herbal medicine, they start the conversation by asking you about your bowel movements; it's very important and they can tell a lot by what's coming out, and so can you.

It is your body getting rid of the remnants of the meat and adjusting to veggies. It will get better FHG, stay with it! I'm not saying my movements do not smell, everyones do. The worst thing is that you can tell when you have been in the loo after an omnivore because their faeces contain half rotted animal remains and smell at least ten times stronger!! (I have done this at work before.)

First let me say, congrats on your lifestyle change! I'm SO glad you feel great eating a veggie diet. :-)
To answer your question, it does take a little while for your body to get used to taking in more veggies- raw, cooked or otherwise. Just be patient and make sure that you are drinking a lot of water. That helps.
I had the same problem when I first became a veggie and now my smells are hardly noticeable.

It's not the smell really. It''s just your body is taking it in a different way. Then normal. Take awile and adjust. I'm 13 and only have been one for about 8 months. And some foods do smell bad but taste good.

Are you the same Foxhunterguy who always used to slam veggies? If you are that's really, really cool. If you are, could you email me with what made you change your mind?
Anyway, to answer your question, your body is probably cleaning out the meat that's still in your colon. At the end of the average meat eater's life there is about 8 pounds of meat in their colon. A vegetarian's contains about 3 pounds. Most veggies digest their food faster, and therefor go to the bathroom/fart more.

I notice that most of the people who fall for your rubbish are meat eaters trying to give a fake vegetarian advice.
I thought you meat-eaters say fish is brain food ?
You have every reason to be concerned. It sounds like the previous meat-eating diet has resulted in colon cancer and you are gradually flushing yourself away.

It's possible that your body is simply adjusting to this new diet you're on, and is detoxing big time, hence the increase in excretion of toxins from your body, resulting in the foul odour. Also, if you eat more cabbage or beans and bean-based products, garlic and onion now, it may also give rise to more odourous excrement and gas.
