I've never experienced any of those symptoms with my HPV. HPV rarely has any signs or symptoms. That's why so many people are unaware they have it.
It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion, especially if you feel the first doctor misdiagnosed you.
Good luck!

Nothing wrong with getting a second opinion anytime a doctor makes a diagnosis. Sounds to me like you may have the flu as well. It could also be stress related due to worry over HPV. Keep up with all doctor appointments, get regular checkups and you will be fine. I know plenty of people that live normal lives with no break outs of genital warts, no cervical cancer...and the ones who have, have gotten early treatment and have had no flair ups.

Most people have been exposed to some form of HPV. It is really quite common. You may want to talk to your doctor to determine which type you have, and he will be able to tell you if those symptoms are consistent with your diagnosis.

I disagree with the answers above. HPV does not cause symptoms. HPV only causes warts and dysplasia which can over time evolve into cancer (carcinoma). It is an easy diagnosis to make by biopsy. It is cured by cutting the involved area off or out. It is true that "low-risk" HPV strains go away on their own. "High-risk" strains do not go away on their own and must be cut off/out. In the cervix, moderate to severe squamous dysplasia diagnoses are followed by the gynecologist performing a "LEEP" to cut away the infected area.

HPV is Human Papaloma Virus. It's treatable, it's genetic in guys, when you have sex the guy can give you HPV it doesnt harm them and you can get a series of 3 shots of 6 months to make the HPV go away. If you don't get the shots.. then HPV can turn into cervical cancer. It's very common, but it's treatable, you have nothing to worry about, go see your doctor and ask her about the shots

You either have it or you don't. If they say you have it, you have it.
You might be experiencing the flu right now.
HPV will go away on it's on, btw.

trust your doctor, not a bunch of random people. there is something at least a little wrong with every answer above. print them out and take them to your doctor for discussion.
