I have heard that genital herpes is contagious forever whether you have an outbreak or not. Is this true or not?

Absolutely.

I contracted genital herpes from a guy who had no signs or symptoms of the virus. I also spread it to my fiance (boyfriend at the time) when I was having no signs or symptoms. I hadn't had an outbreak in almost 2 years at that time!

If a person has genital herpes there is always a chance they can spread it to someone else - whether they are on an outbreak or not.

Were you tested for it? if it was a confirmed on a blood test then a blood test would not lie to you. Mono is contagious for quite a while. its in a herpes family it can reactivate (with or without symptoms) the virus sheds it self periodically. so you are contagious when it reactivates.

It is true but there is also a chance that you could sleep with plent of people and never transmitt it to another.

Good hygynie as well as knowing your body not only helps with transmission but it helps eliminating outbreaks.

YES unless you try curing it with acidopholus....the real stuff from the health food store...a really good one...you must ingest it by chewing it and putting internally as well and stay away from sex for at least a year while on the regiment and then wait at least six months to see if it comes back...they say there is no cure....yet acidopholus...in the yellow cap called Jarro-dophilus...it has six kinds of the acidophilus that kills germs and cleans your digestive tract where the little bugger lives...this stuff is so good I got bit by a really bad spider and we used acidophilus and it healed it.

Yes it is true. And you can pass it on even though you have no symptoms at the time so it is important to use a condom.
