When the discharge looks somewhat like cottage cheese, that is a good sign you have a yeast infection.

There should be a balance of "good" bacteria and "bad" bacteria in the vagina at all times. If the balance ever gets disturbed it can cause a yeast infection. Symptoms can include severe itching, burning, and soreness, irritation of the vagina and/or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge, often with a curd like appearance.

Yeast infections are NOT considered an STD though! However, yeast infections can be spread back and forth during sex. So, if you do have one, it's possible for you to spread it to your boyfriend.

Yeast infections are not considered an STD because they can be caused by so many different things, like using antibiotics. Antibiotics are a big cause of yeast infections because antibiotics kill the "bad" bacteria causing an imbalance of "good" and "bad" bacteria. Having high estrogen levels (hyperestrogenemia), such as during pregnancy can also cause a yeast infection. Having diabetes, having an impaired immune system, using corticosteroids, such as prednisone, having the genital area exposed to moisture for a long period of time (for example, wearing a wet bathing suit all day) or living in a warm, humid climate, and using an intrauterine device (IUD) can ALL cause yeast infections.

See your doctor as soon as you can. They can give you some anti fungal medication (like Difulcan; generic name is Fluconazole). Good luck!

Sounds like you have a yeast infection. Go to the drug store and get monistat or any creams that treat a yeast infection. You need to treat this immediately before it turns into a secondary infection. I would have him use some cream as well.

Well, i do feel that it is unnecessary to say "hell" in most situations..AND ALL of us Americans do not do it. Its very generalizing. I am American and we are not ALL about John Wayne. That was a long time ago and not in this generation. We do not all ride horses and shoot bow and arrow. That is an old stereo type of Americans. Its sort of saying all Brits have bad teeth..NOT all Brits have bad teeth.. I suppose a small population does..but not ALL.

Don't panic....I had the exact same thing when I was pregnant....it is not only gross it is embarrasing....99% it IS NOT AN STD....mine wasn't ...

It was just some kind of bacterial infection....nothing to freak out about but you do need to get to the doc cause it won't go away without a prescription.....

I remember it though and if freaked me out to. I was glad and relieved to find out it was nothing.....

I can't remember what kind of meds he described cause my daughter is now 10

Good Luck
