Why did you smoke your first cigarette?

I was introduced to take a puff with friends and did not know it would be harmful for me in the future. If I had known what I know today back then I would have chose never to light up.

I was curious. Reason for most of what I've started in life. Didn't mind it too much, so when I was hanging out with some friends and they offered me one, I was like yeah, sure, whatever, didn't mind it the first time. I still smoke socially most of the time as opposed to smoking as a habit. I never really became a SMOKER, I just smoke. Rather than going through a pack a day or that sort of think, it's maybe a pack a month or so.

More out of curiosity than anything else. I took one of Dad's out of his closet once everyone was in bed one night (I may have been 14). It wasn't peer pressure - it seemed for several things, I was the first among my peers to do something. I have quit a few times, unfortunately go back. The next attempt will be coming soon.

Me and two other friends car pooled to college classes and I was having a bad day, she offered me one and I have smoked every since except for quitting when I was pregnant, but I started back up when my baby was colic and haven't quit yet.

Because I saw my dad and uncle smoke and I wanted to know how it tasted. I nearly strangled to death but then at four years old it probably wouldn't have taken much to do me in.

i smoked my first cig at 13 years old. and my last one at 29. i am now 37.
