The Binding of Isaac for sacrifice finds mention in Genesis : 22, is a story from the Hebrew Bible in which God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac on Mount Moriah. The story is referred to as the Akedah or Akedat Yitzchak in Hebrew (the binding of Isaac) and as the Dhabih in Arabic.

Abraham agrees to God's command without argument, even though God gives him no reason for the sacrifice (called an Olah in Hebrew -- for the significance of sacrifices, especially in Biblical times). The text of the story says that God wishes to test Abraham, which indicates that he does not intend for Abraham to actually sacrifice his son. Indeed, after Isaac is bound to an altar, the angel of the LORD stops Abraham at the last minute, at which point Abraham discovers a ram caught in some nearby bushes. Abraham then sacrifices the ram in Isaac's stead.

According to Josephus, Isaac is twenty-five years old at the time of the sacrifice, while the Talmudic sages teach that Isaac is thirty-seven. In either case, Isaac is a fully grown man, strong enough to prevent the elderly Abraham from tying him up had he wanted to resist.

Thus ends the story in the Bible which is passed on over all these years among 40 billion strong followers of the Semitic family who are at fight from the days of Judah and Moses. religion

It was Isaac.
Ishmael was the first born from the handmaid that Sarah told Abraham to go into because she could not conceive. But with the strife between Sarah and Hagar, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away. It is said that the Islamic religion has come out of the generations of Ishmael.

This was a test that God done unto Abraham to see if he had Love and enough Faith in God. When Abraham proved that he did in fact have the Faith and Love for the Lord, an Angel of God told him to stop and put a ram there in his son's place.

This is what is written in Genesis: 22 that God wanted to test Abraham and he did tie his grown up son to kill at the command of God.

And God did intervene and disallowed the sacrifice.

Yes, God wanted Abraham to see that God should be the most important thing in his life but that God would honor that attitude so Abraham was given back his son.

I think I need to take an English reading comprehension course.

Maybe it's just late...I dunno.

Hopefully someone will offer a coherent answer so I can determine what the heck this question is all about.

2 Chronicles 28:12 "...and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war"

Hmm...more than 1 person named Amasa in the Bible? Impossible?

Also: Jether is the same as Ithra? Says WHO? It's not the same person! *sigh*

God intervened and said that if Abraham wasa willing to sacrifice his only son...that was proof of his love and loyalty to God and God would not ask that he continue through with this sacrifice.

That was the test of faith in God to Abraham and when God came to know that Abraham was really faithful to God, He gave good advises to him and praised him.

Correction, Abraham was sacrificing Ishmael and not Isaac, when God Intervened.
