I think you eat because it is comfort food, it relaxes you while you are eating. So instead of eating, try and find some other release for your stress. Try jogging or do something with your hands to keep you busy and get your mind off of your troubles. Take a bath, brush your teeth, anything, just do something, take a walk. Get busy.

Before you tackle the exercise and diet you have to tackle the source of the problem. For you that sounds like what ever is causing the stress. I'm sure you don't want to share it with everyone but I'm sure a lot of people will agree that you won't acheive anything unless you can stop the stress. Once you have controlled that then get on with the exercise and diet otherwise in my opinion you will stress yourself out even more with all the worry of your changing body shape and how to fix it, a vicious circle if you will.

Eating food makes us feel good....as do all of what are known as "Survival Techniques".
The survival techniques are
1) Eating
2) Drinking
3 )Exercise
If you are going to choose eating as your booster......eat low calorie food and snacks.
If you are going to use liquids , there are no calories in water.....and it is said that we don't drink enough water !
We often go to the Fridge and eat all the wrong things at these times , because we seek out things that have made us feel good and wanted and happy in the past.
Think about those times in your life when you have felt good and celebrated with other people........Birthday parties , Celebrations , Weddings .......etc
Cakes , Biscuits , Chocolates etc are all in abundance ! Which are all high calorie , sugary unhealthy foods !

Tell him to fck off. Your boyfriend is a pig. I would completely understand if you put 3 stone on, but half a stone is nothing. I bet he is one of them mummy boys who goes to the gym to keep himself toned, loves himself and keeps looking in the mirror!! Does he take longer than you getting ready too??? So what if you put on half a stone?? At 5' 8" it wouldn't be noticeable unless he is constantly comparing you to the ''hot girls'' at the gym. Wake up don't you?? Maybe he wants you to be a size zero insect?? Otherwise why would he be going on about ''the sad no boyfriend women'' who hang at the gym waiting to get it from any available source? Seriously, just dump that $hit and get a proper bloke. One who will appreciate you as you are and pay you compliments. I go to the gym and work out but without being mental about it or being judgemental. My longterm girlfriend is size 14-16 and I wouldn't trade her for any super model out there.

your eating is due to comfort eating what you must figure out is what exact is the reason you are eating for and tackle that head on!
what you must do in the mean time is to try and substitute your eating for others means to relief stress, such as Exercise, Sex, and other hobbies.
if you find that that doesn't help try eating healthy foods rather than sweets and Chocolate!

i know what that feels like i had to stop working for a number of reasons and i sat in all day why my partner went to work and i got lonly and depressed. and when i felt like that i would make somthing to eat its really the case of being bored i didnt know what to do with myself so when i felt like eating i would go out for a walk or go shopping and buy a nice outfit and think to myself i look good pay yourself a complement it lifts you i promise
