contact a builder or floor specials,they have a compound that you pour on the floor and is self leveling,ready to lay your floor tiles etc,*

Go to a home improvement store. They sell self leveling liquid that will level the floor just by pouring it on the floor and letting it dry for a day.

how long is a piece of string?..how big is the floor how uneven is it ..self levelling compound is not cheap ..so we will all have to guess ..£150....to £250

Another option would be a concrete sander, should be able to get one from a plant hire place. This can fix lips and obvious high points.

Dont know how big your floor is... But, use "Self Leveller". I put PVA on my floor first (make sure it will bond) then mixed self-leveler in a dustbin, then slop it out like runny custard. Quick 'smooth out', and leave to set.
