Oceans play a vital role in modern warfare. In fact they have done so since ancient times.
But strategic war must destroy the factories, so the key is the land.
The war in Asia during World War II was decided at sea (by aircraft). Even though a lot of the fighting was done on land.

A world war 3 would be fought on every front. U.S.A. has the most powerful navy and they would be stupid not to take advantage of that. The only real contestants on that field are Russia and China.

I'm not sure it will matter where the war takes place, the weapons now are so destructive that if there was another world war there probably wouldn't be a world after it was finished !!!!!!!!!!!

on won't be on water. the only country with a navy that could be a threat to us or our allies is china, but they wouldn't too hard to take care of, especially with help from the brits
