These are taken just to treat the tachycardia (fast heart rate) that often accompanies thyrotoxicity and you shouldn't be on them long term for thyrotoxicity- you will hopefully have some other treatment unless it is the kind of thyrotoxicity that ends by itself. Some of the side effects are not much of an issue for people with hyperthyroidism- for instance, bradycardia is unlikely. Diarrhea is especially likely because hyperthyroidism also causes diarrhea. Wikipedia lists beta blocker side effects (propranolol is a beta blocker) as: nausea, diarrhea, bronchospasm, dyspnea (means trouble breathing), cold extremities (not likely with hyperthyroidism), bradycardia, hypotension, heart failure (all three of these are less likely with hyperthyroidism because both extremes cause heart failure and the drug is pushing the heart to a lower extreme while your thyroid is pushing it to a higher extreme of activity), fatigue, dizziness, alopecia (hair loss), abnormal vision, hallucinations, insomnia, nightmares, sexual dysfunction, erectile dysfunction and/or alteration of glucose and lipid metabolism. Propranolol is a reasonable short term treatment to reduce the chances of a heart attack or problematic heart disease in the few months after hyperthyroidism is diagnosed and before it is adequately controlled.

because your sister has a degree of hyper thyrodism ,so her metabolism rate is high.her oxidative stress is also high due to the high amount of metabolites formed in her body therefore i advise her to take glutathione as it will decrease the risk of many possible problems that may occur.i ask GOD for your sister & for every sick person to help &cure them ....................Amen
