I used to take oral mezalazine as I have Ulcerative Colitis, but after I realised that they were the cause of my severe headaches I had to stop. At that time I had a bad back too and after stopping the mezalazines the back ache eventually cleared also.

After a year or so my doctor wanted me to try Pentasa Suppositories that have mezalazine in them. He said as they are inserted in the bowles where they will act directly on the inflamation I would not suffer from the usual side effects assosiated with the oral medicine..

However, since I began to use the suppositories, I have been having regular headaches again and what I have found to be most odd is that I have the bad back agai too.

Could the mezalazines really have been the cause of the back ache? And are they the reason I have headaches again?

Medicines for over a year? Gentleman they will kill you. You should follow Naturopathy or/and Acupuncture.
Your ulcer should have gone, so these therapies will help you.
Visiting us will be a wise decision. Patients' examining is the best instead of giving guidelines for chronic problems.

It certainly sounds like you have a negative reaction to this particular drug. Many medicines can cause side effects. That's what You are experiencing.

Tell your doctor about the pain coming back after starting the suppositories and ask for a different drug that may cause less side effects.
