I've looked and I can't seem to find it. None of these verses that people twist into whatever they want. I'm asking for the exact place where it says that abortion is a sin.

there is actually a verse that basically legalizes abortion!

what it says, is that if 2 men conspire to beat a pregnant woman such that she loses the pregnancy, but she is not herself permenantly harmed, then it is up to the husband to punish the perpetrator at all.

so basically the way its worded, a husband who doesn't want the baby can talk to his buddy and have him punch her in the stomach or whatever, so it aborts the pregnancy, and then not have him punished, or only a token punishment. .... while still allowing for real harms of that sort, that were not planned, to be punished severely.

most people who say that abortion is wrong belive so on the relatively modern idea that personhood begins at conception. (something that judaism and the old testament does not support at all)

oh and it does NOT say "thou shalt not kill" it says not to murder. and you cannot murder a non-person.

The entire Bible teaches the difference of right and wrong and the rewards and consequences of each. You don't have to look any further than "the only way to the father is through the son". If you have a personal relationship with God, then you know from the wisdom that you have gained from the knowledge that you have received that Jesus would never have approved of abortion. Even if you know very little about scripture and the christian faith, this should be a no brainer.

The Bible never specifically addresses the issue of abortion. However, there are numerous teachings in Scripture that make it abundantly clear what God’s view of abortion is. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that God knows us before He knits us in the womb. Psalm 139:13-16 speaks of God’s active role in our creation and formation in the womb. Exodus 21:22-25 prescribes the same penalty for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as the penalty for someone who commits murder. This clearly indicates that God considers a baby in the womb as just as much of a human being as a full-grown adult. For the Christian, abortion is not a matter of a woman’s right to choose. It is a matter of the life or death of a human being made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27; 9:6).

You won't find "abortion" in the Bible because the word - in anything like the modern context - didn't exist back then. In much the same way you won't find words like Thalidomide, or Floppy Disk, or Pot Noodle in the Bible. The Bible does, however, make it abundantly plain that the killing of a human prior to birth is absolutely unacceptable - even if the death occurs without direct intent. For example, if two blokes get in to a punch up and they manage to injure a pregnant woman to the extent that she loses her kid they are both to be put to death. See? Simple, innit?

“You [Jehovah] kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. . . . Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.” -- Psalms 139:13-16

“In case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul.” (Some translations make it appear that in this law to Israel the crucial matter was what happened to the mother, not to the fetus. The original Hebrew text, however, refers to a fatal accident to either mother or child.) -- Exodus 21:22, 23

“Anyone shedding man’s blood, by man will his own blood be shed, for in God’s image he made man.” -- Genesis 9:6

“No manslayer has everlasting life remaining in him.” -- 1 John 3:15

“You must not murder.” -- Exodus 20:13

at the time the bible was writen there was not an option for abourtion. the baby would be born alive or dead or the mother would be killed before the birth. so I do not think you will find such a verse but murder is a sin to kill some one and to abort a baby is to end that life that is the closest I can get.

If abortion were a sin they would've addressed it specifically. It was a fairly common practice back then. The Old Testaments even says it's wrong to mix fibers...that's pretty detailed information. Doesn't make sense to leave out abortion if you're going to write a book that lists every sin. People literally threw away babies when the Bible was written.

Thou shalt not kill in the 10 commandments. You can ask alot of women that had abortions and they will tell you it was one the worse feeling they have ever had. And some were so convicted by doing it that they feel into deep depressions and remorse. So judge for yourself.

The ten commandments state, "Thou shalt not kill". Literally translated, thou shalt not commit murder. The Bible also states that God has known us from the time we were in the womb. Christians view a baby inside the womb as a living, breathing human with a soul. By killing that tiny human you're committing murder. Thus violating the commandment.

It doesn't. In fact, it clearly labels abortion a misdemeanor in Exodus 21:22.

Read carefully. If a man abuses a woman and causes her to miscarry, the judges decide a fine. If "further injury" occurs (i.e., the woman dies), it's an eye for an eye. Clearly the unborn is not considered the same as a grown adult. The Christians will try to worm their way out of this, but it really is clear as day:
