Yes, there is plenty. Just check the food recall list - even so, many of them on here are voluntary recalls and weren't actually harmful in any way. For instance Hills m/d was recalled voluntarily, and I can tell you right now there's no problem with that one.
I'm sorry you lost both your dogs, that's very bad luck. Do you know for a fact it was the food? Apparently the problem with the food caused kidney failure, but the fact that kidney failure is not uncommon in older animals anyway means any case of kidney failure cannot be blamed on the food without a post-mortem.
Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know, but I just wanted to reassure you that yes, there is still safe petfood out there! I do think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, as these things tend to when people's pets are in danger.

It's terrible how this pet food is killing so many pets around the US. I am very sorry that you have lost both of your dogs due to Menu Foods.
I think the best cat food (and dog food) you could possibly buy is Innova. It uses human-grade food, is natural, healthy and is not made by Menu Foods. It may be expensive but if it means keeping your pet safe and healthy, just go with it.

yes. the recall for the 51 different foods have been delt with. although the recall occurred there still is not any direct evidence that the animals mentioned actually passed on from the foods (per fda) all pet stores should have pulled there product from the shelves. the staff at the stores do have the most updated inf. that you will need. call and ask your local store. they will help you with any questions that you have. i still feed my dog/cat dry food from 2 of the companies that were in the recall.

I don't know if they sell cat food, but the name brand of dog food which is made without any of that poisen wheat crap that has been taken off the market, is "SOLID GOLD". Go to www.dog.com or try www.cat.com, see if they have it for cats too. Pass it on

yes....The dangerous stuff in the poisoned pet food is imported plastic from china....I work in Purina as a pet food manufacturer, and i know for a fact that Purina doesn't use China made products, it uses all american products. Purina may be more expensive, but it may save your pets lives...;)

Yes, there is a brand called Royal Canin that you can get at PetsMart and is manufactured in USA! Missouri. Also, it really is wonderful for their coats.
