Because "Helvetica" is a copyrighted word, and Microsoft used "Arial" instead. It's the same thing.

Well, the first poster is right about 1 thing at least.
Arial is free, and Helvetica is copyrighted.

Arial is NOT the same thing!
While they are very similar, try to substitute Arial for Helvetica in an 80 page book, and youre in for ALOT of trouble!
