ugh hair stylists do this to me alot, i have long hair and i want it to be long all over and every single time i go to a hair stylist they layer the hair in front of my face and every single time i hate it! i end up trimming my hair at home till the front grows out again, but heaven forbid i go back and ask for a quick trim just to clean things up, they chop off the front again!! its annoying! just try and be very very clear when u get ur hair done, say no layering, no thinning, say u just want a little trim on the hair u have and u want to grow it out. hopefully thatll put an end to it, just be very very descriptive before they hack away with scissors. say u dont want sideburns, and dont want the back taken up. she was probly trying to even out ur hair as it was growing out so when it got longer the ends they would be more even, but just explain thats not what u want

As a hairdresser since 1970, I can say this truthfully: some hairdressers just don't listen. Ask your friends about the person who does their hair. If they think their hairdresser listens and works to find out what they want, go talk to that hairdresser. I built my career on people who were unhappy with other hairdressers, and had lots of happy customers. If you can find a photo of the hairstyle you want after you grow it back out, take that with you. Great hairdressers will listen, help you develop your style and ultimately make you happy.

You want to trim the edges of your hair fairly often, but tell your hairdresser that you do not want your hair thinned or anything. The best place to go to get a regular trim without all the thinning and such, is a cheap barber. Honest to goodness, he will do what you want and not what HE wants!

Thats happened to me plenty of times. id go in and say "I just want a little trim" And theyed thin it out and cut it all short so id be worse than before i decidided to grow it. I deicdided to take my buisness elsewhere. Now i go to a hairdresser called "rodney wayne" its a bit pricey, but i found they actually listened, now my hair is exactly how i wanted it. So my advice is 2 find a new hairdresser and tell them to be very carefull, to keep the thickness and just trim your layers and take their time. they like it when you tell them exactly what you want.

I'd shop around for a barber or hairdresser who will do your hair the way you want it.
Make sure you spell out how you want your hair. You should have parts of it trimmed for hygiene and comfort, but make sure the hairdresser doesn't get too artistic on you.

You only need to trim it when you get split ends or the ends get very dry. If you use a good conditioner and don't mistreat it you shouldn't have to get it cut that often.
I have to get my hair cut maybe once a year, if even that, because I'm really careful with it.

Trimming your hair when you want to grow it long is like trying to move forward while walking backwards. I doubt you'll get a terminal case of split ends if you fail to trim it, so don't listen to that nonsense.

hi there....whether we're guys or girls we should have our hair trimmed roughly every two months....the reason your hairdresser maybe thinning your hair is if it's quite thick.....however if you want to keep it one length then ask her not to layer or thin your hair.
