If you've been on those meds for a year and still have all those symptoms you need to tell your doctor and have him try some different meds, or find a new doctor if your current one won't comply. More often than not there is a cocktail that will give you your mind back. After four years, I have mine. XD

Effexor is what's wrong with you. Antidepressant medication does the same thing to me. It's like hell on a speed freak's overdose. My partner is the same way and he's been on most antidepressants out there. They make depression worse, but more excited. It's kind of fun really, but only for a few months. That's if they do anything at all. Of course, they work for some people and your doctor will continue to insist that you just need a slight change your dosage and this will keep up for years unless you do something about it.

I'd call your doctor. Tell him he's an *** licker and ask for a referral and a second opinion on your diagnoses and treatment. After a year if you are still feeling this way and he's doing nothing, he's just a business man. Most psychiatrists are.

Personally, I just quit medication. I can't be bothered to deal with the mental health industry. It's hopeless.

Try seeing another good psychiatrist. Also, you may want to try another pill because I guess the ones you are taking now are not good enough for you. I take Nefazodone and it's starting to help me a lot but I don't even know what I have. Bipolar2 maybe?! I am not sure...
By the way, I also used to have racing thoughts and it was driving me crazy. I felt like my head was about to explode because it felt so heavy from thoughts.

You need to talk to someone about how you're feeling. Drugs alone wont help you much if you're left to brood on your own. As for whats wrong with you- no one knows, but dont think for a single second that your doctor is all knowing.

You really need to talk to your doctor. Likely, your medication needs to be adjusted.
