ha, those GT500s have a 20k markup, i dont think they are going to give you much of a deal no matter what you give them

I would sell your car privately because you could get more money for it. Then go to the dealer and use the money you get from your car as a down payment, and then you will probably only have half of the car to pay off assuming the car is about $45, 000. If you do trade it in though, then don't mention about the trade-in until you have agreed on a price. Think about it though. Just say you get $23, 000 for your GT. Well, then if the GT500 you want is about $45, 000 then you have to pay $22, 000. That would be like buying a V6 Mustang because you already have 1/2 the price of the car. (I hope you know what I mean!) Hope this helps. Good Luck! Oh and by the way if you say Mustang GT then yes, it is implied that it is a V8. All Mustang GTs are V8.

A lot of the dealers that have a GT500 are adding a makr up to list price. You can check www.kbb.com and get the trade in value on the GT. If you go to the same dealer that sold you the GT then you may do a little better. Shop around and check out www.blueovalnews.com they have some links to GT500 forums and they may be able to hook you up.
I suppose you saw the new GT500KR that was at the NY Auto show, plus I hear there may be a GT500FR with another 40-50hp over the standard GT500. Good luck and I think you are making a good move. Just get Carroll to sign the car at one of the SAAC meets.

I would just wait untill next year, your trade in value won't decrease much. Plus with the new GT500KR model comming out, the standard GT500 won't be marked up an extra $10,000.

The GT500 sticker is about 45,000 and dealers mark it up to the highest i have seen at 95,000.

how about this... drop about 7k on a roush or saleen supercharger, another 3 to beef up the suspension and brakes, and have a sleeper that would be all yours, and then go race the jackass that paid 20k over sticker? make him bleed just a little bit inside!!! :)

They'll really bend you over on trade-in...I wouldn't recommend it.
