Make sure you know your ACLS well and review or take a course in critical care. The best clinical teaching experience would be having backround in ICU or cardiac tele.
But any books geared towards CCRN, Emergency RN, or Paramedic skills would be good practice review.

Well depending on where you live, usually there is a Registered Nurse, or a Registered Practical Nurse. A Practical nurse can administer medication to a patient in a hospital, probably give needles, help a patient out to get comfortable and do rounds in a hospital, on different floors. The Registered Nurse can do more such as start I.V's changing in depth dressings, characterizations and so on. Usually you just go to school to be a nurse which is usually a four year program, then once you start doing your practical part in the hospital as part of you education you may find where you like working, Usually when you get hired at a hospital then you can move around to different areas and decide where it is that you want to be, maybe in labor and delivery, maybe surgery, maybe pediatrics, who knows. Good Luck!

When I first passed my NCLEX I purchased a book called "Nurse In A Can" which has 2-3 sections about Emergency Medicine and Procedures (along with a lot of other quick references). I would do my best to find it, since it doesn't seem to be around anymore.
If you stop by Borders or Barnes & Noble, they have a LOAD of books in their Health and Medicine section which I like to just sit in there and read up on (since there are always new things coming out).

Mosby has some very good books dealing with emergency nursing. I know that Barnes and Noble carries them. I think Borders does too.
You can do a search for "Mosby" on the web and when you get to the site, look for a book that would be good for you.
As an EMT, I mainly use Mosby textbooks. They are what I used when I was in EMT school and I still reference them now.
