I mean look at the way Muslims can't decide how to dress - some wear the burqa, some don't. Surely, God either wants them to wear it or not! Why is it a grey issue?

The same with Christians. They can't agree what a good Christian is. Some of them believe the Creation story was literal, some figurative.

Surely the 'Moses Method' was easier ... God gave a list of rules and you follow them and it's all good.

He ought to lay it out for us to play it out.

Religion will always be ambiguous as long as they insist on imaginary gods and other halucinations of ideology it's a lock.
Even without this such enormously controversial issues require debate and detail to determine each extenuating circumstance and there are many. One simple rule of thumb that is not so ambiguous is to be kind . And the benefits are huge.

No ambiguity.
What ambiguity?
Muslims has basic rules , what to wear, and within those rules muslim can wear any thing they want.
Few are here:
Should cover enough body which is not provoking to oposit sex.
Should cover enough from unhealthy envirenment, etc. etc.

Infact these rules are in our own benefit.

FIRST RULE : THE BEST GARMENT

[7:26] "O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury. But the best garment is the garment of righteousness. These are some of GOD's signs, that they may take heed."

This is the BASIC rule of DRESS CODE in the Quran. This is the first rule in WOMEN DRESS CODE in Islam (Submission). What is inside your heart is more important for God that the dress you wear.

SECOND RULE : COVER YOUR BOSOMS

The second rule can be found in 24:31. Here God orders the women to cover their bosoms whenever they dress up. First, let us review some crucial words that are always mentioned with this topic, namely "Hijab" and "Khimar"

THIRD RULE : LENGTHEN YOUR GARMENTS

The first regulation of DRESS CODE for Muslim women is in 7:26, the second is in 24:31 and the third is in

33:59

"O prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and the wives of the believers that they shall LENGTHEN their garments. Thus, they will be recognized and avoid being insulted. God is Forgiver, Most Merciful." 33:59

CONCLUSION:

God, the Most Merciful, gave us three basic rules for the Dress Code for Women in Islam (Submission),

(1) The BEST garment is the garment of righteousness.

(2) Whenever you dress , cover your chest (bosoms).

(3) Lengthen your garment.

Dressing in Islam
Also under the protection of lineage, certain dress codes have been established for both men and women. Men should cover from navel to knees in public. Women should dress modestly and cover their beauty in public. This is in order to protect society directly from ills such as immorality. Revealing the face, hands and feet is permissible. The idea is to safeguard the precious jewels of beauty that lie there under. A jewel will be kept in a jewelry box in the safe under lock and key, far from the public who may pounce on it and pinch it if it is not properly guarded. Dressing appropriately sends a clear message to the children. A policeman who has no uniform will wave his hand all day trying to bring the vehicles to a halt, but he will not succeed because he is not properly dressed. An ordinary person in police uniform will succeed in stopping any vehicle the moment he makes a single sign with his hand. Parents who do not dress properly will not be able to control the dressing of their kids, no matter how hard they try. Lead by example.
It is encouraged to dress similar to the Messengers of God. Studies have proven that they have all dressed in a very similar manner.

The founders never created a religion and they were not ambiguous. When it started becoming organised, it became a religion and those who organised it were rule makers of dos and don'ts and far away from the understanding which the founders had. Hence, religion is bound to be ambiguous.

I'm nondenominational so spread myself away from that. I have faith and I pray. I'm good to people and seek forgiveness. I always put God first in my life and I think the best way for me to live a happy Christian life is to try to please God and not what other Christian standards are. I seek truth through God myself.

He did. Read the Bible. Don't get caught up in the inventions and twistings man has created because they will confuse you. But when you study the Bible everything becomes clear.

I suggested once that there are many many different interpretations of the Bible and nearly had my head chewed off by those who couldn't agree on what the Bible says.

Some "Christians" don't think Christians have to be good, all they have to do is believe.
