You can't create more information from what you have.
A regular DVD movie has about 480 lines.
An upconverting DVD just scales those 480 lines to either 720 or 1080 lines.
So, your LCD TV (which has 736 lines) has more than 480 lines to begin with.

Set your DVD player to 480i and let the TV do all the upscaling, or if you think your DVD has a better scaler, set it up at 720p.

well yes and no! Yes it will work, but no it will not give you the 1080p picture! You will have a 1080i picture!

our tv has more than just 1080i
