You don't. Do you think she doesn't know what her own body looks like?

Unless this is someone close to you who is very overweight and their health is at risk, you have absolutely NO right telling her anything.

If you just feel the need to tell a random girl she is fat just just because she is a few pounds overweight, then please stop now. If you think calling a girl 'fat' or telling her she needs to lose weight is going to have a positive effect, you can think again. It will usually end up with her feeling like complete sh*t and then turning to food for comfort and gaining even more weight or it can have the opposite effect where she feels so low and desparate, that she starves herself and ends up with an eating disorder. I'm sure you don't want this on your conscience, so just let it go.

Take care : )

The ONLY one who might get away with imparting such info to a female is her mother - and even then it is risking the reciever of the info not speaking to her own mother for potentially years! UNLESS your carried this person in your womb, keep your mouth shut! If you are her boyfriend or husband - telling a woman this is just like asking for a divorce only MUCH faster!

Good manners should keep you from pointing out the obvious. I mean do you really think a woman would be too fat and NOT know it? Not the women I know! A dear friend of mine is hell bent to control her weight. At a 2lb weight upward shift, she begins a quickie diet. At 4 lbs she's at the gym daily for a few weeks. She swears that anything over 10 lbs and she's off to the plastic surgeon for lipo - although I have never actually seen this drastic reaction take place. This woman has four scales in her house and they all register the same weight for everyone who comes in!

You DONT!!! She probably already knows this herself, and you telling her that will not only get her mad but depressed as well and thats what leads to an eating disorder. Trust me i know....I had a kid tell me back in high school that i needed to lose weight, so what did i do.....i stopped eating and when i did eat, i threw it up. Today if i look back on my pictures from that time, i wasnt even fat just needed to lose a "couple" pounds. So my advise to you is just leave it alone, she'll realize it eventually on her own.

You can never tell a girl straight out that's she's got a few extra pounds without her getting mad. And she will usually be mad for a few days minimum.

To all the commenters so far - what is wrong with that comment? It's OK to make comments to guys for being fat, but it's not OK to say it to a woman? So much for equal rights, huh? So females can handle everything that males can - except for comments on their physique? Pathetic.

If you don't wanna say it straight out, then get the sticker from a turkey package and stick it on her shirt/pants/etc - then talk nice about the ButterBall. THEN RUN!

Edit: 4 thumbs down? wow, talk about sensitive people! Tell her to lose some weight - it's the same that she would do for you, right? To NOT say something because she's a girl is sexual discrimination.

Instead of calling her fat...why don't you ask her to go walking with you! Try asking her out to lunch...be a good friend and order for her... nice healthy stuff...then tell her that you are looking to get healthy and exercise...since she is your friend would she please do it with you?? Sounds a lot nicer than telling her she is overweight....which she might not even be....maybe its just your opinion....

Can she tell you that you are a jerk without you getting mad?

Say nothing. She knows her size very well. If you have a problem with it then move on to someone else. Maybe she is comfortable with herself.

its doesnt matter how nicely you tell them, they are going to get somewhat ticked off...I know this for a fact...I used to be 130 lbs....I had a baby, had to be put on medication and as a result of this medication, my weight is not even close to pre-preggo weight...i hear it from my hubby every day to "work it work it" but see my situation is different...I am married....
