states that it is a better idea to just believe in god because case 1: if he doesn't exist then when you die it's eternal "nothingness" but case 2: if he does exist you goto heaven. As opposed to not believing in him case 1: he doesn't exist and nothing happens case 2: he does exist and you goto hell. Therefore it is a better/safer wager to just believe in him because you don't sacrifice anything in doing so that is significant enough to warrant the risk of going to hell.
