Does the CIA have assassins that they train and who work for them? Or would they just use ex-military guys?

The CIA of course has "unofficial assassins" that are probably very rarely if ever used. This was probably more of an old school thing that has slowly gone out of practice due to more nosey civillians who dont understand that some things are best kept a secret.
A lot of the people in the CIA are ex military that have been recruited or college students that have excelled and scored particular ways on tests that the CIA noticed and recruited.

I was in military intelligence for over 10 years, and can answer this for you. The CIA does have agents that specialize in counter terrorism that have never been in the military. Also some of the missions maybe led buy a CIA operator, but may be carried out by military personnel. A lot of the agents do have a military back ground though, being in the military especially in special forces of some kind or in military intelligence helps with getting the job.

No, because of executive order. One of the problems is the CIA has a horrible record of putting people "in the field." Everything from the Watergate crises to the CIA kidnappings was just really shoddy work.
The SEALs aren't much better. An undercover SEAL team was kicked out a few years ago in South America because they shot and killed an armed guy trying to rob them.
Chances are if there was an assassination, the CIA would take a gob of money, go to a major crime boss and pay the boss to hire a hitman to do the work.

They do have assassins. Dude the CIA is a clandestine agency, mainly for International Intelligence, and counter terrorism.
Check out the Improvised Sabotage devices boof, its off the shelves. But do search the Internet u will find one. I have seen it and also taken a copy.
Man it tells u how u can kill a guy using things that are avaialble at home. And also how a Human **** can be made into a lethal bomb.

The CIA should be disbanded. secret organizations with that kind of power with NO OVERSIGHT should NOT EXIST.
