When I was married, I placed the favors at each place setting so that every guest would get one. A wedding favor is a special thank you to all of your guests for attending and a reminder of the day, so I would recommend making sure that everyone receives one.

ok well you can do this several ways, one of which you mentioned which i absolutely won't advise unless you really have some extra cash! usually its one favor per family or per household, per couple whatever- but single invites also get a favor. You can also do this the cheap way where only special invites, special friends and family get favors. Umm nope teenagers dont really get favors, but their family does. Check ur guestlist- ur catering for 130 guests but how much households? buy ur favors according to that figure and remember dont buy the exact amount, always purchase a lttle more- better more than less. Some people also use their centerpieces as their favors, but here seating is done according to family/ households also. good luck!

To be honest, you dont have to give every guest a favor unless you want to. Most favors, unless edible, are tossed away shortly after the wedding, if they aren't left at the reception itself. I would like to suggest either a bag of goodies ( a bag with a few cookies or treats like kisses) or a tray of goodies at the table with pretty bags next to it so guests can take their own treats.
Good luck and congrats.
BTW- doing it the treat way will bring the cost to under a dollar for every person.

If you want to save yourself money -- rethink the favors you want to give. I gave CD's of our favourite love songs, which had our wedding song and other dedications on it, and i made them myself along with the booklet inside (made copies at Kinkos) and they looking professional. So everyone got a CD - I also put small bags with buttermints on the tables for everyone as I only paid $5 for 6 dozen buttermints and bought the bags in bulk.
You can always buy hershey bars by the bulk and just make your own wrappers for it.
Good luck!

Well, you put out the favor(s) in front of each place setting, so yes, you have to plan for all guests. Contrary to what another answerer said, most people really like favours and keep them as souvenirs.

Depending on the favor if you are giving some type of candy then yes you might have to give one to each person. Now if you are giving a little keepsake then you just need to give one per family or couple if they are single then they get one.

One person, one favor. So 130 favors.
You don't have to have favors at all either.
I would make it something edible, or something you know they'd use. Mints, M&M's, etc.

I say if it's something edible then everyone gets one. If not, one per household.
