I was really wondering if it would be possible to add land to Jamaica seeing that some of the water levels in parts of the beach are pratically just sand?

humans more sand and soil around. Florida adds sand to it beaches and grooms them. And now is cleaning up the tires they thought would make a reef

a lot of islands were build by lava building up from volcanic eruptions the surrounding seas are very deep
they have used coral reefs to extend islands
but this is not very environmentally friendly for the fish populations

In the Netherlands and some parts in England we have been draining swanmps and low coastal areas between islands, for centuries ,they are called Polders .

a dike or wall is build between the sea and the land and the water is pumped out
lands become available for agriculture and extending populations ,

but now with climate change and global warming and rising seas who knows for how long these lands will be safe ,they are below sea level

in Holland they chased away the Spanish by opening the dikes and putting them up to their dirty necks in the water ,

and in 1953 the dikes broke because of weather conditions and half of the country was up to the roofs in the water

Jamaica has very strong weather and ocean conditions and you will find that the sands you talk about are unstable and change shape

Not so sure about people adding onto Jamaica, but Japan added a place for the airport outside Osaka.

As far as adding land naturally goes, an active volcano in Hawaii is adding land every day as lava pours down to the sea and extends the shoreline out a little bit farther and a little bit farther.

of course it is, the whole earth is made of land, it just so happens that an island is a small patch of land that is above water. just drop the dirt or sand.

there are such things as entirely man made islands, you can see the on google earth... its really cool.

(islands in the shape of a palm tree)
