Thanks for the answer guys but isn't...

"theist" - a person who believes in many God.

"atheist" - a person who don't believe in the existence of God at all.

But this person believes in one God but not in any of the organized religion.

It would depend on their other beliefs. They could be either a Deist (if they believe God is not actively involved in our affairs) or a Theist. But "Theist" really isn't too descriptive. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Baha'is, Hindus, Sikhs, etc are all "theists." It just means someone who believes in God. So that is not really very helpful. So it will depend on the other beliefs.

Here is a nifty quiz that will show you which religions most closely match your beliefs. Just taking the quiz can be enlightening because it can help you consider how you feel about certain issues that you may not have thought too much about before, and you can see what kinds of things determine a person's religion.

Someone who doesn't believe in organized religion. My aunt and uncle are like this. They believe in God but refuse to go to a church.

If they believe in God then they should also believe His word. I don't know what you'd call them, but it is plain to me that religion has been defiled by men.

"Theist" is all you can say for sure. That's the term for one who believes in deity. Perhaps you could say "non-denominational theist", but that might be stretching it.

I wouldn't call such a person "spiritual", because there are plenty of non-theists who might be considered "spiritual".

Lost.

How would they know what is required of them to do to strengthen their faith in God?

I don't believe it's enough for someone to simple say "I believe in God" and sit on their buttocks till they die without proving their faith, to themselves and to God. There must be a period in a person's life where their faith has been tried, and retried...

Besides, do people really think they will be thrown into Heaven without a fair trial? Sorry, but that's not going to happen.
