.dwg is a vector drawing file from AutoCad but you can use Adobe ilustrator or Corel Draw sometimes, depends on the origin of the file and the way it was drawn. Even in a 3D program you can sometimes import these file types. Try importing or placing them if they dont open from scrap.

dwg files are drawing files. (Modern version of the old practice of creating drawings on a drawing paper with a pencil).
You can use AutoCAD or dwgeditor.
Sometimes, you may get a version related error message with AutoCAD; it only means that you have to use a proper version of AutoCAD.

hi my friend first you have to instal AutoCad program so you must know .DWG file is to which virgen of CAD for example AutoCad 14 or 15 or.......after that you run program and go to OPEN and select file and open file

Right click file (Mac users ctrl + click file),
Save target as,
Select destination,
Save
But one problem you have to have a password to open this file. Pluse user name. So that why you can't open it.

use AutoCAD or simmalar softwear (Solid work, Inventer, ext.) if your using a Windows computer you can right click and say open with Internet... it will then bring you to a page that tells you what programs can open that extension.
