wondering which is faster and which is more cost effective. I might invest in one if the price and time is alright. I make too much tea to have to ask this question LOL

I love my electric kettle! It boils water in a couple minutes, as opposed to a gas stove which takes 15 minutes. Mine is a WestBend from Wal-Mart which was only like 12 bucks. And I've had it now for over 10 years!

Actually it is about the same, depends on how high the temperature is on the stove, to how long it takes in kettle or pot. Myself, I place tea bags in glass coffee pot, pour in cold water (like making coffee), the hot water on tea bags, give it about ten minutes, and pour tea into pitcher, add sugar or not and cold water , it is ready. I do clean the coffee pot after wards.

some are faster than stovetop kettle. My Krups is super fast. I bought another one, a Hamilton Beach and it is SUPER slow...
There's a heating element plate in the Krups and a heating element coil in the Hamilton Beach.
