Church leaders in the New Testament were instructed to be "the husband of one wife".
In the OT, there is a difficult verse about one of the kings of Judah doing right in the eyes of God, and having multiple wifes (2nd Chronicles 24)

The Law of Moses said for a king not to multiply wives. Solomon disregarded that law. while it is true that God tolerated polygamy during pre-christian times. Jesus set things straight in Matt chapter 19. Later Paul said that an overseer should be husband of "one wife" Titus Chapter 1, and 1 Tim. chapter 3

Polygamy was important to tribal people as they needed to build up their tribe. Many children indicated wealth. It had nothing to do with the hardness of their hearts as I have heard some say. Moses allowed then to divorce their wives due to hardness of their hearts.
Jesus said a man and woman will become one flesh. So Christians are allowed to have only one wife.

Polygamy is not of God, man created polygamy. God said one man and one woman, not one man and 100 women

Nope, not true - most of the "patriarchs" had many wives, especially Solomon.

Just because Solomon or Bush or Koresh did it, doesn't make it RIGHT.
