I'm a young guy with a liking for female feet. "Fetish" is not the proper term since it is defined as being REQUIRED for any sexual arousal. Thats not the case for me, its just a liking. Anyways I have been deeply depressed & suicidal for years now. I am a great guy though and have been told by my male friends and female friends and girlfriends and I am not "gothic" or "emo", etc. (The depression is not 100% due to my liking for feet or even 10% for that matter) anyways I have always kept my liking of feet a secret with a select few of my girlfriends. I'm wondering if things might be any better if I was more open about it or if I'm right in keeping it a secret and how should I go about it if I should be open about it? I would like to hear honest, mature, well thought opinions and narrow minded and or immature users need not reply. Thanks in advance.

"Brutal Honesty" would like to know why I like them. Well the truth is I don't know why. Around the age of puberty when I really started being more interested in sexuality I started off watching average adult films. Then one day I stumbled upon an advertisement for a foot fetish website and I was extremely interested. It started off as something else besides the average films to get off to but soon I noticed I was being "tortured" daily just by going to school. If a girl is wearing flip flops or sandals. If I can see anything more then the back side of her heel I cannot help but stare. I have never said anything about it to strangers though and I am sneaky about looking to avoid being asked questions and embarrassment to the girl. I am VERY civilized about my liking for them however and I hate guys who act like pigs about it and give us all a bad rap. So to sum it up an event in my child hood must have picked it up for it to be later triggered.

1-- Fetish /is/ the right word. You have a foot fetish. No, you're right, it's not a fetish in the clinical sense. By DSM-IV standards, not a whole lot of people have foot fetishes. But there's more than one definition of the word. Another is just what you described. This is the more common usage of the word "fetish." You may as well say it, you've got a foot fetish.

Now that that's out of the way... sweet zombie Christ on a pogo stick, I'm not going to read all that. But skimming it...

ok, so you're suicidal in part because of liking feet? I don't think I've ever heard that one before. Obviously you need help, and if you're expecting things to change because you're more open about your fetish, think again. If you're depressed, you either need medication or to change your outlook on life radically. Obviously it's not suddenly going to make you into a guy who loves rainbows and sunshine just because all of a sudden people know you have a foot fetish.

Not that you shouldn't be a bit more open if you want, it just won't change you is all.

To be quite honest and frank I would love to know why? So yea talking about it would help, because I personally have no desire for the feet so it would be interesting to know why! Besides if you don't tell people more on the why there going to get a bit freck'd out about it. Pop culture doesn't look nicly on such attractions. So spread the word and let us know how you came across this... interesting way of looking at women. They might get a kick out it.

Well, i honestly dont see how foot likings could dramatically change a relationship if it doesnt effect even 10% of your depression.
