if you stand for a long time with your knees locked you will pass out, is that true?

I can not get it to happen, I tried it one time to see if it would work lol... But once at a military change of command I watch a guy fall and my husband was standing by him and when I asked what happened he told me... he also says it happens alot in the Military

my firend told me to stop locking my knees out and she told me that that could happen, she said it mainly happened to someone b/c it was very very hot but i dont know

yes it happened to this kid in my fourth grade class he just collapsed as we were performing a play.
