First of all, a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week, not 10+ pounds a week. You didn't gain the weight over night and you won't lose it over night either.

Cut out the fast foods, junk foods, candies, sodas and other sweets. Eat 4-6 small (healthy) meals each day--don't forget the fruits and veggies!!
Drink up on water! It really does help with weight loss.
Of course, exercise! Run, walk, swim, play sports, run up and down your stairs...anything! Just get moving!!

Atkins will probably help you lose weight quickly but 10 or more pounds a week is really unhealthy (and unlikey). Something like Weight Watchers or even the South Beach diet would probably be a little better for your body.
Good luck with your weight loss!

Its unhealthy to loost that much weight that fast. You can probably do it within 2 weeks...

Buy a calorie counter watch.

3,500 calories burned equals one pound
Keep your food intake to 1,200
Add both numbers and you have your total calories needed to burn each day of the week.

It really doesn't take much. If you change your view on how to loose weight its alot easier when you are looking at numbers instead of miles.

I went from 168 to 127 using this plan.

Lean Cusine meals are a great source while doing this..their prepackaged meals are sooo good and they are approx. 180 to 380 per box so you can eat like 5 of them a day and still be under your intake level. Dont' forget..Water!!!
