It would depend on how long you've been drinking and smoking for. If you've been doing it for at least a year or two then yeah you could be an addict. but if you just barely started drinking and smoking then no your not an addict. 6 beers/shots of vodka and snorted two loritabs and smoking everyday and even smoking for a whole day. Thats too much. You sound depressed because only someone with depression would do that much at once or everyday. Never drink beer or vodka because of depression that only makes things worse. Smoking is ok its ok to smoke everyday but try and not smoke all day you can get sick from doing that. You just need something to do everyday. I'm 19 too and I smoke but I do other things besides tnat. Try and cut back on your drinking and smoking its not normal to doing that 24/7. And if you feel you need help you can e-mail me and I'll try to give the best answer I think I could give to you.

I think, in a way, that whether or not you are an addict is somewhat beside the point. Either way these are unhealthy habits, and obviously you're aware of that. Whether you're feeling the need to to it every day or whether you're "only dabbling" and using drugs/alcohol recreationally, it's still dangerous. You need to be honest with yourself about the reason behind this behaviour - why you choose to snort meds, drink when you can and smoke weed. What do you like about it? What does it distract you from? What would you be doing if not this? Are you happy? Are you scared?
I have gone through phases of the same thing in the past year and it has all been total avoidance behaviour. I do not have an addictive personality but when i have found myself in situations i am uncomfortble with but for whatever reason cannot change (when i intensely feel something is wrong but i can't do a thing about it/get away from the environment i dont want to be in) i have drowned my anger and hurt and lonliness in alcohol and drugs, sleep and food. Anything at all. They have all been symptoms of my desperate reaction to not being in control. The hardest thing is to stop yourself before you succumb to the habit, force yourself to be present and ask yourself what you're doing and why.

only you can answer that question. i can do all that in one day too, but not do it the next, or the day after that - therefore i'm not an addict. just because you do that stuff a lot doesn't necessarily mean you're an addict. an addict does these things (smokes/drinks) before things that are important in life, such as work, school, or family. an addict will use bill money for drug/alcohol money and get into serious debt. an addict will wake up in the morning, sober and say "something doesn't feel right... i'm sober!"
party up with smoking/drinking if it floats your boat. but when life begins to fall apart because of it, then you have a problem.

If you're even asking yourself this question, then chances are you do have a problem (are an addict).
I would suggest trying AA/NA, but only if you feel you are ready to quit, and really want to quit. That is key: you have to really want it. I've been where you are but I let it get to the point where I was losing everything (not paying rent/bills, eating out of trash cans, trading sexual favors for drugs/money). I hope you can get the help you need now so you don't have to go through anything like that. Good luck.

Addictive genes, it sounds like. You're going to have to be extra careful all your life. Just consider it an affliction like diabetes. And, then do what's best for yourself, which is to stay away from harmful addictive substances. Get addicted to blowing bubbles on three year olds' bellies or something instead. I'm serious. People say counseling helps. Yeah, whatever. I'm of the mind that the only way someone can get control of their addictions is to pull themselves up by the bootstraps. You have to want a better life. Then, just do it.

It sounds like it. Even if you're not an addict, you are doing things that are very dangerous to your health. I hope you go to your doctor and ask for help before this gets out of control. You're too young to let this happen to you. You deserve better.

honestly, i don't think the weed is addictive.. but the beer/acohol might be. and whatever you are snorting could be as well. if you can go a day without it with no problems, then i don't think you are addicted. but if you feel that you can't live without it, then yes you are!!!

if you need an incresing amount to get the previous result, you are probably an addict. Try going without for a while, and see if you start to experience withdrawl symptoms, if you do, you need to get some help.
Good Luck.
