Eating before working out won't hurt you, but if you eat before working out, eat at least 1 hour before, or you might get sick in the middle of your workout.
Eating protein and calories right after a workout will increase muscle production. So I'd say after. But people usually aren't as hungry right after working out (exercise reduces appetite).

i think you should eat a little and hour before working out so you won't bring out what you put in.i think it is okay to eat afterwards too within and hour after working out.i need to join you and run somewhere and work out.i'm bony as ever 5'7 and 98 pounds.drink plenty of water while working out.you'll probably drink more water than i have all year. best of luck with your workout.

definitely eat AFTER. you're gonna get cramps if you do it before. also, if you are lifting weights and you have food in your stomach, you might wanna vomit after applying so much pressure to your body.
