It's probably a habit of mine, but whenever I have to do homework or if I am just sitting around, I always snack (and usually on unhealthy foods). I'm trying to be healthier and lose a few pounds, but this is definitely a drawback. I think it's mostly out of boredom, but is there something that I can do to stop this?

Drink a HUGE glass of water when you 'think' your hungry, its a natural appetite suppressant. Something like 70-85% of people in North America mistake thirst for hunger....hmmm...

Find a healthy food you can snack on. Fruits or veggies, peanut butter, milk, anything healthy.
I heard that a lot of snackers snack because of a compulsion to just put stuff in their mouths. If you can't find something healthy, just chew gum or drink water or something.

This is what I do:
Drink ICE water.
Eat an apple.
Eat a carrot.

They're all filling and good for you and it takes the edge off so you can resist.
