Power kicks on to all the electronic stuff, but when you turn the key it doesnt make any sounds, nothing. When you pop the hood and have someone turn the key all you hear is what sounds like something unlocking, and then one single click, then nothing, any suggestions?

I'd go with the others about the wire.. but Ford normally has two starter solenoids on there (Not sure where the one not connected to the starter is on the 04 however) and may be concern.

Also what about the led light on the dash? Is it flashing real quick? Comes on and goes off? or stays on?

If the red led on the dash isn't coming on and going off after about 3 seconds... you never gonna start that vehicle... (As this vehicle has a PATS immobilizer installed from the factory)... if it flashes repeatedly.. basically dealer is only call (and will do exactly as you describe)

a clicking noise eh. try to locate the origin of the noise, if it is from a small round plastic piece with two bigger wires, the same size as the red battery cable, and a smaller one, roughly an 8th of an inch thick. if this is the source of the noise, a that is your starter relay, and b using a heavy guage piece of wire, or a small screwdriver go from the post with the small wire, and jumper to the larger post withe the cable going back to the battery, if it cranks then the problem is in the control side of the circuit( ignition switch, park neutral safety switch(AUTOMATIC) or the clutch safety switch,) if it does not crank then you may have a bad relay, starter, or the starter feed wire may be bad, but without personally looking at the vehicle this is the best i can do

try jump starting the vehicle if that doesnt work it sounds like your starter. not sure if the clicking you decribe is a light click like a relay or a hard click like a starter if it doesnt start with jumpercables try tapping on the starter with a hammer, the brushes might be stuck . dont beat the crap out of it you might need it for a core charge.

Found On Road Dead. If your UV is broke already, you should feel like an idiot and just get rid of it. Try buying something that isn't built like garbage. I'd recommend a General Motors or a Japanese car.
