I had to blow up balloons for a party and I kept popping them. My girlfriend was getting mad at me. I want them to be as full as possible and I always think one more breath and then I will stop, but then BOOM!
How do you know when they are as full as they will get? Does anyone else like to blow them up too big?

Since I don't like the sound of a balloon popping I usually just make it a moderate size

It depends on how big they are, but there should be enough play at the end to tie the balloon. You can always go up on the knot to give the balloon more fullness.

The package will say "10 inch balloons" or whatever size they've been manufactured for. Don't blow them up past that approximate size.

You can only learn when to stop from experience. However, there are a couple of items you can monitor to gain experience. One is the color of the baloon. It gets lighter as the baloon gets fuller and thinner. Over time, you will learn when the color is light enough. The other thing is the pitch of the sound made by your breath. It gets higher as the baloon fills.

I agree with Damita-j. I hate the sound. If I have to get rid of them after a party, I cut the knot to let the air out rather than pop them.

usualy i look at the top of the baloon where the rubber is thicker.. when you run out of rubber than you blew too much. i have a phobia of loud noises...but i pop fireworks and baloons when im bored. IDIOT! (lol, you blow!)

Ummm...I like to blow them up real big, too...? I try to blow them up until they're only a bit smaller than my head. You could try that.
