Sure, you'll see faster results. But at the same time, you're confusing your metabolism. Your metabolism is going to slow down, for survival purposes, and when you do finally begin eating again, you will actually gain weight back, at least what you lost, and most likely more, until your metabolism is back to normal.

it all has to do with the physics principle the conservation of energy.

unfortunately like many you are focusing too much on numbers on a scale and not body composition. body fat is stored energy and that energy only gets converted to the cellular energy source ATP. ATP is the primary energy source that is used in the muscle cell for all anabolic and catabolic process and for muscular contraction. there is only so much energy that the body will metabolize from fat over a 24 hr period and there is only so much ATP that the body will utilize through exercise. these are limitations by human biology and they can't be changed. this is why people are always told that losing fat slowly is the best way to keep muscle mass. once the body has utilized all energy it will from stored fat the only other sources of energy are from glycogen which is stored in the muscle cell and liver and amino acids that are catabolized from muscle proteins.

starving the body will alway result in greater losses of muscle than fat, this is the way that human biology functions.
