How can an American live and work in the UK without being sponsored and without having a college degree?

It seems difficult for an American to temporarily move to the UK for work and holiday since were not part of the commonwealth countries. Are there any alternatives? Apparently im "unskilled" so i cant work there...

america DOS'NT let forigners have legal working holidays in the U.S so most other countries return the favor and dont let americans have working holidays
its one of those you won't let us we won't let you things

Apply in a British Company so that you will be given a working visa in the UK.
