I used to pray that my family would see the truth of Judaism. They prayed I'd see the truth of Christianity. We both should have been praying that we see the truth. Period. What do you think? Are you willing to pray that you yourself come to see the truth? Or are you so arrogant that you think you have already arrived?

If we had been praying for ourselves to see only the truth then we would have discovered that the truth is that things are fine the way they are and that the only thing we need to change is ourselves within, not changing people to fit our view of the world.

I think it would be very arrogant for anyone to believe that they know the full truth about this life or all of the religions herein. Life is a journey and without growth and maturity throughout it, what do you end up REALLY knowing?

I never thought of finding the truth. I only ask to be forgiven for my faults; and then for everyone to be forgiven and make it to heaven.
How would I know what the truth is?
I also pray for individual petitions asked for by others, and the sick, etc.

I already prayed and I was dragged to the feet of the Buddha, and so far as I know, through logical examination and analytical study (per the Buddha's own expectations) I have found his teachings to be true for me.

I always pray for God's wisdom and that He would keep me from being deceived. It is His truth alone that I desire to know.

The letting go of the outcome is the fear factor in this prayer - it is also the ticket to the ride. It is a lesson that I often forget - thank you for the reminder.

Finding the Truth should incite joy, not arrogance. I'm happy.

Cheers :-)
