You can get it removed at the dermatologist. It will be safe, but it will hurt. The level of the pain will probably depend on the size of the mole and the method of removal. Try talking to a dermatologist about it and determine the best way to handle the problem with them.
As for the grandmother thing, if you live with her and she would be the one paying for the doctor, then you really should tell her how much it bothers you and hope that she'll understand.

Talk to your doctor - it's a very simple procedure with only a very small amount of pain, but your insurance probably won't cover it if you just want it removed for cosmetic reasons (if it's not dangerous).

I have had about 9 moles removed - sometimes I get stitches and sometimes not, but you'll always get a scar. You'll just have to decide if you'd rather have the scar or the mole (for me, I'd rather have the scars).

sorry but your grandma is nuts! If you ever have any mole that bothers you or doesnt look right you need to get it taken off ASAP! There is no garentee of no pain but they numb it . you will be sore for a day or two. just take ibuprfen or tylenol. i had one taken off my neck once too. it wasnt bad. My brother had melanoma so im really iffy about these things

I would recommend talking to your dr about this to see what they suggest.
