If I dont believe there is a god can I still have Faith?

I know this is weird but I dont believe there is a god, and yet I feel something, as if some one is looking out for me, things that happen I reckon happen for a reason,

Ages ago I felt like this, then I forgot all about it and felt... empty...

Now I got that feeling back again, its hard to explain but is that faith?? even though I dont beleive in god?

I wonder why you don't believe in God. Faith is trusting him even though you have never seen him.

I've been where you were before. From my late teens until most of my 20's, I had a hard time believing and understanding the concept of God. I did not get it. It was not enough for someone to tell me about God because telling me about it does not make me feel and experience God.

I did believe that there was something supernatural about the world we lived in. I knew these things were possible because how can I ever diminish all of these stories people talk about of the spiritual world. I wanted to understand more about it and loved to read, so I read endlessly on all kinds of stories.

I was open minded and really wanted to understand who I am and why am I here. I believed in love and faith. I did not like religions and stayed away from debates about God. I just focused on making myself a better individual. Just over time, it was my personal experiences about something greater, higher and more beautiful than anything that I have ever felt that helped me understand it even more. Plus reading the wisdoms of many saints and sages contributed to that awareness as well.

I like what Amma says. She says that we don't have to believe in God or anything, just only to believe in love and ourselves which was exactly what I had been doing for many years on this personal journey. It was believing in myself that lead me to a true understanding of what God is all about. It is about our true essence, not just some guy in the sky.

This is not something anybody can help you understand. It's something that you will come to on your own personal journey at it's own pace and time. There is no wrong way and nor no time is too long for anybody to get to that point. It's not something that we can force upon ourselves and nor anyone can do it for you. That is like trying to force open the bud of a flower. To do so, will kill it. We must let the bud open naturally. The same concept applies.

All that matters is you understand who you are, and the rest will fall into place.

That little feeling inside of you is God trying to get your attention. I understand you don't believe in Him but why don't you try this. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you if He really does exist.
