HI! I have been taking klonopin for 11 years now. Klonopin is a very addicting benzodiapine. Klonopin is the strongest in the benzo family.I know exactly what you are going through. I have had many trips to the E.R. Sometimes the thought of having a panic attack brings one on for me.It scares me to death too. I would not hesitate to call your doctor. Tell him exactly what you just told me. You do need to know that klonopin is not like volume. Your body Does not need more as time goes on.We are talking about really strong stuff. I have been weaning off of this drug for nearly two years.Your doctor should have you on some kind of routine. For example I have to take my klonopin 2xs a day. I have been doing this everyday for 11yrs. I know how scared you are. You are not alone in this.Maybe your Doctor could prescribe you something else to take with it. maybe prozac or paxil. Also try to keep your mind on something else. The more you are intune to your body, the worse it makes you feel. I really hope this helped. If you need to talk let me know.

Well if you take too much of a medication, it may have the opposite effect on your body, and can cause you more harm than good. If he says to take only 1 or 2 a day, then you need to be doing that. When you feel a panic attack coming on, stop what you doing, sit down and relax and take some deep slow breaths. If it doesn't seem to help, maybe you need to ask you doctor for a different medication or he may need to up the dosage.

Panic attacks are horrible. I was taking 2 mg lorazepam 3x daily for a while, but now I'm on 20 mg Prozac 1x and 1 mg lorazepam 3x daily. My panic and depression is gone. I also eat right, don't drink caffeine ever (they increase anxiety), don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I do yoga daily. You may need to go see another doctor. Klonopin, lorazepam, are benzos and yes, they are addictive. What you need to do to come off of them though is to get on a good anti-depressant anti-anxiety like prozac to even you out. You CANNOT get off them on your own, the anxiety will return. Trust me, I tried it. I would make an appointment with a psychiatrist. This is their specialty. I am lucky enough to have a background in psych and an excellent primary care doc, but doesn't sound like you're so lucky.

You really should talk to your doctor to see if he can up the dosage or prescribe more than 30 days worth (provided your insurance has no issue with such coverage)

Let me go check my medical degree....and let's take a moment to let everyone else check theirs..... OK, done. Why would you increase your medication or do anything like changing your doctor based on what strangers might tell you?
If you go find a new doctor he may decide you only need to take 1 table only when really necessary and prescribe you only 10 per month. Ever think of that?
Listen. Your doctor told you to take 1or 2 per day as needed. Do you think he will be surprised if you tell him that you are using 2 per day? Talk to him and let him know. If he feels it is medically need to increase your medication; he will.

well see if you can get a new doctor a get the amount of medicine you think you might need to take. if that doesn't work go back to the doctor you have now and tell him about what you think might be best for you.
