I don't consider myself a religious person...I do consider myself spiritual, and I do believe in reincarnation. I really do not have any "logical" reason to believe in this, its just something I feel is part of the universe...I guess you could say im running on faith.
I want to know the different reasons why people believe in reincarnation, if its religious upbringing, or based on your own personal spiritual experience.

I believe in reincarnation because I have always felt that there is another part to my life that I can't know. I get deja vu a lot, and I think that that has something to do with reincarnation. I think that deja vu might be recollections from another life, maybe so with the most vivid dreams. I have always felt that everyone has lessons to learn, and that through reincarnation, a person learns all of the lessons that they themself have to learn. Also, most of nature is cyclical. This is just another part of the "circle of life." And whomever posted above me is very right, energy is never created or destroyed. This is a really good question; keep asking!
Blessed Be,

I absolutely believe in reincarnation, because, you get so many chances in life, why not in death also?
How else would you explain the following?: I sometimes have memories of places in the past that I have never been to, and have no other way of knowing about. I frequently have deja vu and that feeling that I have known someone forever when It's the first time I've met them. I dream of being someplace in the past with someone from this lifetime and our children, etc.(I have no kids yet in this lifetime)
I don't believe people come back as animals, however, like some middle eastern religions, because I believe animals have different types of souls than we do. I learned as I got older that everything we are taught as children is not always true, and did some religious studying and research on my own. (My mom's family is Catholic and my dad's is Baptist and I didn't feel that either of those religions are entirely right for me. ) I do believe in God, but, remember a lot of fact is left out of the Bible, and everything in it shouldn't automatically be believed as true or false.
Do some meditating, and soul searching and you will find the answers you seek. There is a logical explanation for everything.

As mentioned by others already, I believe in a cyclical universe where energies are just transfered and never destroyed.
I was not brought up to believe in reincarnation, it just made sense to me, especially when I began having memories quite early on. I dismissed them as fantasies until I was able to verify a number of them historically.
I accept reincarnation as a fact now, I have no more doubt in my mind, but I understand that other people may find this difficult if they haven't had memories of their own verified.
Probably the strongest confirmation for me was meeting two people who I'd known previously and hearing the same details of those lives but from their point of view. I don't know how that can be explained as anything but remembering a shared life.
Cheers, and good luck in your search.

I also believe in reincarnation. Religious upbringing was beneficial towards the search of my spiritual truth. I believe in a higher power that made everything possible that is.
The deepest part of you believes that there is actually no death, but the spirit continues within some other form of who they are. Ask yourself: before I was here, where was I? You were somewhere and will be somewhere again and again

I consider myself spiritual, if anything, though I'm not sure what my thoughts are on reincarnation. I think it's a fascinating theory, not to mention completely astounding if it is, indeed, what happens when you pass on. I can't exactly help you, because like I said, it isn't something I put much thought into.
I can, however, tell you that I am a huge believer of another controversial issue- evolution. :)
I hope you get some great answers that will help put things in perspective for you.

Well sir... you better pray that the gas you drive with is of better quality than the faith you think you run on!!!
If there was truly such a ridiculous thing (I went to kill a cockroach once and a lady said: "no! don't kill it, it could be my ancestor!) but that's besides the point...
If reincarnation was a given, you would have to believe an awful pile of other c-r-a-p, such as how could one, two or a handful of men ever turn out billions of humans and why is it that there are billions and billions of bugs of all sorts? and why is the world consistently getting bigger and bigger when apparently only the real good ones or truly enlightened ones ever come back in a human form? that the less than perfect ones come back as a lesser form such as a black fly or a spider or a coakroach??? Come on... what else is that impostor god going to manage to put in your very young brain? Compared to eternity aren't we all extremely young? No wonder that evil god finds it so easy to blind us with his unbelievable lies!!!

You look to key onto one sentence and obsess over it, my buddy. answer: no longer all Jews theory in reincarnation. some have faith the soul reincarnates until one is righteous sufficient to connect G-d while dying. some have faith the soul reincarnates until the Messiah/Messianic Age comes around. some don't think in reincarnation in any respect (extra of the commonplace theory).

I believe in Reincarnation because it's visible in nature as a never-ending cycle.
A seed is planted... it grows into a flower... the flower disperses seeds... the flower dies and becomes decomposition, and may eventually help make a new flower. Meanwhile, those new seeds will start that same process all over again.
Also, Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred.

I *refuse* to believe in reincarnation and I would illogically deny it even if there was incontrovertible proof, because that would make an excuse for not doing my best *this* time around.
Whether reincarnation is or isn't true, the *belief* in reincarnation is bad.
