I read this article on the news items listed before opening my email on 4/9/07. I'm very interested in reading all sides of the global warming issue as I'm not one to be swayed by all the media frenzy I'm enduring these days. I do know that the article said that this gentleman was very annoyed with all the media attention that this subject is receiving. He went on to say that global warming is a "cycle" that happens periodically. Interesting!

Global warming definitely is a cyclical variation that has happened many times in the past, and will definitely happen again as well.

I have seen several so-called 'debunkings' of global warming that bring this up and claim that global warming cannot be occurring now because it has occurred in the past.

I fail to see the logic in their argument. You would think that with the abundant evidence that global warming and cooling has occurred in the past, that would be a rather compelling argument that it may very well be happening again today.

Their argument is like claiming that it cannot possibly be getting dark at 6 in the evening today because it got dark at 6 pm yesterday, and then it got light again. If someone tried to use that argument, we'd lock them up.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the specific article you mention.

Perhaps you are thinking of the book, "Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years" by S. Fred Singer.

There are a few scientists who are skeptical about global warming. Generally they are not the best scientists, and they have little real data, just theories.

A very large amount of scientific data supports global warming.

Very short summary:

The best summary available:

This overwhelming data is what convinces the vast majority of both scientists and respected scientific organizations that global warming is real, and mostly caused by us. Proof.
