The Cross is really important to me (as a Christian) because it represents Jesus dying and paying the price for the sin that I committed. He died for me, and then went to hell for me! Something that he never deserved because he was perfect, he never did anything wrong.
The Bible teaches us that yes... if you do not put your trust in Jesus, then you will pay the punishment for your sin, that means hell...

The Bible says "whoever hangs on the tree is accursed" so that is to say that the cross bears the curse or is the curse. So it is NOT a Holy thing! The ONLY cross that ever mattered was the very cross our Lord hung on! People treat the Cross as a "spectre deflector" yet it bears no power. Consider this, If Satan hates crosses, then why was it his best choice to torture Jesus? If you take a cross and throw it in a room with a pentagram, will their be a great fight or explosion? Trinkets, the both of them. Does not our ten Commandments even say " you shall have NO carved IMAGE or LIKENESS OF ANYTHING on the Earth(the cross and Jesus, apostles, saints) or above the Earth(stars and angels) or in the sea(fish)or under the sea." So even the Ten Commandments gives reason to doubt the physical carrying of a cross. Jesus said "take up your cross and follow Me." meaning your afflictions and pains not your gold and silver! The STORY of the cross is all too valuable, yet a physical one holds no help.

I know that when I look at a cross I remember what Jesus did for me. He died for me so that I could be clensed from MY sins. Even though he didn't do anything wrong. Yes, it kida does make me get a queasy feeling inside when I think about how they tortured Him. But He forgave them. When He was hanging there on the cross He said, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." Wow! He asked God to forgive the people that killed Him. That is an example of how God wants to forgive everyone, even the worst people.

No offence taken :) Basically, we carry the cross around and have many images of it to remind us of the pain and suffering Jesus went through to save us from our sins. Yes it is depressing but not freaky as in fact, Jesus' actions were the most selfless and beautiful ever shown. I do NOT think you are going to hell for not believing Jesus is the Saviour, so long as you are happy in your choices. I warn you, ignore those extremists who will tell you that you must REPENT, and say 1 000 Hail Mary's or whatever because you have sinned. Now, THAT is what freaks me out! :P

No, oohh NO.
Jesus paid my ransom on the cross. It sure was painful, because when He was here He was in a human form.
To me an empty cross means that Jesus is alive, and I can have everlasting life with Him after I die. He conquered the death.
Yes. As we have a lot of choices here on earth, there are only two choices what comes to eternity: hell and heaven. You can choose.
You have a free will. These are actually very good and very important questions. : )

Friend,
No offense taken.
For me, the Cross is a reminder of the price that God the Son paid for my sake. It is a humbling reminder of the fact that He did indeed suffer and die for me, showing the ultimate love, and the fact that this act enables me to be forgiven by grace.
For me, the problem comes at stopping at the Cross itself without considering the meaning of the act and Person associated with it.
According to what I understand about the Bible, refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Savior leads to separation from God; i.e. Hell. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."
May God bless you, and lead you into the Truth.

I don't carry around a cross because my life and words should make it clear to everyone that I am a Christian.
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (going to hell), but it is the power of God unto those who are being saved.
Only God the Holy Spirit can open a person's heart to accept the truth that Jesus' death on the cross paved the way for their salvation. Faith and repentance are gifts of God's grace which he bestows on people of his own choosing.

Alot of people had died on the cross's.
It was what the Father used to get His Son into Hell to get back what Adam lost--and give it back to us.
If you don't get your spirit recreated BEFOR you leave the Earth for good, GOD can't let you stay in Heaven, too much Power, you wouldn't be able to Handle that Power with a messed up spirit.
It is not that GOD dosen't Love people, if they don't get Born-Again (spirit recreated, saved), they cannot Handle the Power that comes outta the Creator in Heaven.
Just that simple.
Hope this helps.
Ditto..................

Yes the cross does kind of "freak me out". In fact it isn't Christian at all; but it is the "beast's image".
The scriptures (both Old and New Testaments) are quite clear on idolatry, symbols, "sacred" art etc. I do not own, wear or encourage others to wear a cross, fish etc, quite the opposite. If you need a "cross" to REMIND you, are you really a Christian???
The fact is that the "cross" wasn't even a "Christian" symbol until around the late 3rd century...it was a PAGAN symbol before that and still is. The "true cross" being discovered by Constantine's mother (Helena) is frivolous at best...along with the pr oven forgery of "Constantine's conversion" to Christianity...in fact he didn't convert Paganism to Christianity; but, did convert Romish Christianity to Paganism.
Christ was not crucifed on a cross according to the original Greek texts; but was crucified on a large stake or post....there is even evidence in the King James Version to support it:.
Act 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Regarding your other question about not accepting Christ and Hell..... you are at least condemned to death and quite possibly, Hell...if you never repent and believe.

No, the cross does not freak me out. I see it as a symbol of the ultimate love and sacrifice, not as a torture device.
Yes, My Lord was killed on the cross. But He allowed that to happen for ME. And more important than His death was His life and His resurrection and his ascendance into Heaven.
When I see the cross, I am reminded of the scripture:
"Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
