probably reaching $4.00/gal in some parts of the country. Go for a diesel, so you can burn biodiesel in it...you can make that yourself.

Unfortunately the cost of fuel will continue to rise with the ongoing problems world wide. Big business means big money & the share holders want to be taken care of.

I've always owned 3/4T, 4X4, standard transmission, diesel pickups, since they became available in the early 80's.

I've owned all 3. I found Ford trucks were the biggest disappointment. There motto was always QUALITY IS JOB ONE. But I believe it should read QUANTITY IS JOB ONE.

The 6.5 turbo GM diesel was not a bad engine, never changed a glow plug in over 140,000 miles, however the injector pump was a constant concern.

The last two pickup have been Dodge, 5 & 6 speed standard, Cummins. Very few problems other than routine maintenance.

You will have to ask yourself if you will warrant the extra cost of the diesel. Are you planning on towing a large trailer or packing a camper?

Good luck & happy hunting . . .

I don't think there is one single person on Yahoo that can give you that information. We can't predict the gas prices for next week, let alone 3 years from now. Too many world events can affect the prices. If you want a truck, then get a truck, life is too short to worry about it. Be happy

Get the Toyota Tundra V6 Double Cab. That should ease some of your concerns. I think that gas prices will get up to $3.25, but no higher than that.

Well they say that prices will continue to rise but diesil will stop and eventually be cheaper. There is also a law trying to be passed where if you have an suv or truck then you'll have to pay more at the pump for it.

Over $5. in California, which is a $1. higher than Texas.
They will start another war over oil,or something. Buy a Diesel and convert to WVO or make your own BIO diesel your best bet.
